Before I was a web developer I worked for a comapany that makes funny looking shoes. I had a chance to be a part of a small company experiencing rapid growth where everyone had to pitch in in different areas to make sure things got done. I wore many hats during my time there, from Customer Service up through Sales Operations as a data analyst, but I was happiest when given a problem to solve.
So I decided to turn my lifelong passion for technology into a career and enrolled in the Web Development Immersive program at General Assembly in Boston. I am very excited about using the skills I learned there, such as Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS and MEAN, in pursuit of a new career.

Back when the United States Fencing Association was overhauling their rule book they encountered an interesting quirk of technology. They were "translating" their rule book from the British version, but wanted to replace every instance of the word "hit" with the word "touch." A find-and-replace was run without checking for context, and so every instance of the word "White" (which is my last name) became "wtouche." I added an extra 'H' and as a former 11 year competitive fencer it's fun to think of my online presence as a translation of my name.
